I have a relative who wants to get his profile pic removed and is not happy with me due to this issue. I had earlier closed my geni account and geni said they would get rid of the data but it seems that this has not happened. I am unable to access my account. Geni asks me to email help@geni.com , which I did and received absolutely no response so I had to make this new profile off my facebook account and now I am posting details of this issue here in order that I may get my issue resolved.

I deleted my profile expecting my personal information to be removed from the platform. That was not the case. All of my personal information is still shown on the platform, but now I cannot access the account to make any changes.I now get the message: "Your account was closed on today. Please email help@geni.com if you wish to rejoin Geni." I tried getting in touch with geni to reactivate my account so that I could remove my information manually, but I have not heard anything back in almost two weeks! Instead, my ex-"wife" is now in control of my account which is the last thing I wanted to have happen! The whole point of deleting my account in the first place was to disconnect my family tree from those not in my family tree.Can you or someone from Geni please respond to this issue? Let me know what you need from me to take care of this. How can I gain access to MY old account again and please tell me how to disconnect from those not in my family.Thanks in advance. -
Jeff, Geni Curator Michael, I sent you a family invite so as to try and help. Looks like you have access to this duplicate profile though, so you could do merge the two, which would give you control over it.
