A simple question: Please offer me exact, step by step instructions as to how to remove and/or move a family member who I originally added? He is in the wrong place on the tree and so makes the tree invalid.

A simple question: Please offer me exact, step by step instructions as to how to remove and/or move a family member who I originally added.  He is in the wrong place on the tree and so makes the tree invalid for all 3 or 4 hundred of our family members who are on the tree. I cannot see how to simply change where he is on the tree.  He is a distant cousin but he is listed as my brother.  I wish to either remove him or move his to the proper place.

No other family member can do this because they did not add him to begin with.  I did.  No other permissions are needed, to my knowledge.

  Jolie, this depends on if the profile is claimed or not, meaning the person joined Geni.  If they haven't, then you should be albe to easily move them.  Take a look at this instruction: http://help.geni.com/entries/469824-how-can-i-show-more-than-one-relationship-between-the-same-two-people

  If that doesn't allow you to do it, then let me know and I can try and move the person.

  Oh, and after you move them, you'll have to resolve the parent conflict by clicking the exclamation and choose the proper parents.

  I am sorry, but I have tried to remove a "partner" who is female.  the name is "Chris" and I have entered it correctly as husband and Christopher.  The other "Chris"  still remains despite using the "Remove" section.  I cannot seem to fix this despite the reading and following the directions.  Nothing happens when I click on the remove.  Help please

  Carolyn, that profile is claimed.  Is the email used in that profile the correct one for your husband or is it a stranger?  We can easily change the gender to male - that's simple if that's the only issue.

  Hi I have a similar problem I created the tree and has put right under my parents name which is the wrong position there are 3 other members before me I have tried moving the node and dropping onto the second person nothing working.

  Prior to the above I had edit my profile and deleted name etc which became no name lol hoping that would work but no, so I added my details along the siblings line and merge the two together still not working oh what a muck up help please
