  The family tree is your family group (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/family).  Here is that list: http://www.geni.com/list/index?group=family

  The number you are connected to on Geni includes every connection in all directions.  Once you connect into the World Family Tree (http://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree), your count will look something like like mine: "You are connected to 67,445,325 people on Geni."
