How do I get hints for my ancestors from other people's trees ?

Jeff, Geni Curator This will normally happen automatically as you build your tree, you'll see a little circle with a number in the top left of the profile, which indicates a possible match with another tree. However, viewing these hits requires a pro account I believe. They also show up in the merge center as possible matches. The idea is that once you reach a point where you find duplicates that you merge into the other tree, and ultimately the world tree, thus reducing duplication, research, effort, etc.

Dan Cornett You can also use the Geni search tool (for Pro users) and you can use any Internet search engine to look for specific public profiles. With Google, for example, simply add " site:Geni.com" to whatever search string you enter to restrict the results to those found on Geni.com.
