How to upload Gedcom to Geni.com?

Is it possible if I can upload Gedcom to Geni rather than re-creating the profiles from scratch as it will waste time.

If it is not possible, are they working on it to make it possible?

  This feature is not available at the moment.  In the early years of Geni it created chaos in the World Family Tree, creating massive duplication.  So the feature was turned off until they could redesign it to be "smart" and only import new profiles and data.  Last I heard, this was on the development list.  In many cases, you need only build so many generations before you'll run into existing profiles on Geni and can merge them, connecting yourself into the world tree for collaboration on your ancestors.

  As an alternative, if GEDCOM import is a must, I'd recommend My Heritage, which is focused on isolated trees and does not have the duplication problems involved with a shared collaborative tree.
