A distant relative was accidentally sent a request to the family tree to a different profile. Help!

The lady was given an invite to Geni.  However the invite was mistakingly linked to the wrong profile (same first name).  She proceeded to regard this as her invite to access the family tree in Geni and to adopt the profile as her own.  Her only attempt to recognise the issue was to change the surname of the poor lady whose profile she took and to state in the "about me" section that "I am not XX's wife.  I am his fourth cousin once removed..."

I contacted Geni about this at the time (November 2011) and they said they had emailed her and would deal with it when they had her response.  No update since!

The person whose wife's profile she has taken was very active in the family tree circles and had been active in Geni, but this put him off completely.  He removed the names of his children from their profiles to protect them from being associated with this lady, and has avoided using Geni since.

I attempted to explain the mistake to the lady that took over the profile, more than once, but did not get any coherent response.

Can't Geni just look at what has happened (name change; about me description) and remove her from the profile/geni?

I am a pro member which doesn't seem to have made a difference.
