A family member added more of his maternal family members but all I see is a white block with the initial and the lastname. How do I access these family members?

Bjørn P. Brox Initially you should have access to all profiles, except user profiles, within your family group, so this sounds more that you have found these profiles in an unconnected branch.
The answer is simple(?): ask the profile manager to get access.
The first action is to click on the "Contact Profile Manager" on one of these profiles and explain the situation and why you take contact.Depending on the response (he/she might take initiative to get your branches connected/merged).
To get access to private profiles, like these are, you invite that user to join your family group, or, if public profiles, ask for collaboration. The options for both are found in the Actions menu on that users profile, which you get up by clicking on the profile manager name.
