I'm looking at ancestors on http://www.geni.com/people/Vigener-Fictional/6000000005040054920#/tab/overview
it says Fictional. If it's fictional, why would it be in an ancestry website?
Thanks
Sharon

I am seeing the same thing. It would be nice to have an obvious setting that said "Don't follow fictional profiles". Gah!
Because it is an endless fight when we remove them, - they will soon be added again "because it is their ancestors" and there are written sources on them..
We have the same problem with the biblical line, you will probably get threats if you asks questions about the reliability on them.
Bjern, I understand the point you make, but I would still like to be able to avoid paths which go through profiles with (Fictional) attached to the name.
My daughter was studying Cleopatra this week, so I search and found that she is Cleopatra's 60th great grand-daughter. I decided to look over each of the links, marking many as iffy, to make the point to her that genealogy is a tricky thing: then realized that a sequence of five profiles in the line were labelled Fictional. I'd like to be able to label a profile "Untrusted by me": and thereby avoid using it in any lines. That data need not be public or revealed to the owner for whom "this is their ancestor".
I understand, but I am quite sure that you find much more questionable and not even logic connections long before you ht those lines. Anything before 1600 can be questioned
Exactly --- that is why when I merge a profile, I would like to be able to flag a particular link as dubious! (I have found many reasonable links, but several very questionable ones, which I'd like to be able to flag....)
