Is there a way to add Adoptive Parents to a profile?
I have a stepson who I have legally adopted and would like to have my name added to his profile while also keeping his birth mother and all her family information, etc. on the child's profile.
Does anyone know if there is a setting that will allow me to do this?

Carlotte Elizabeth Bupp I'd like to now the same thing. My grandmother's first husband was/is both my mother and aunt's biological father, but he was abusive and when my grandmother remarried, her second husband legally adopted my aunt and mother and I wish as convey that on my tree. Also, my father raised his ex-girlfriend's son as his own without legally adopting him and he has a biological father that was absent except for child support and I would like to list him as my adopted brother...

Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) At the present time, Geni has no way to handle adoptions. The way to do it is create a duplicate of each adopted person and add the other parents. Then merge the duplicate profiles. The will then show two sets of parents but you just leave it at that. It is good to note in the "About" section of each which are the birth parents and which are the adopting parents
