Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) You have created a tree, why would you want to create a new on? You have also asked this twice.

Alter Rozenfarb I begun to work with Geni. After working a lot of time I found that my first tree was devided in three grouped of sub-tree that I dont know how to link.
So I decided to beguin a new construction. How is the road I must take. Thank you

Betty Mae Burgess I am not the person that you answered above. But I would like to start a new tree, a separate tree, because I have more than one side of my family and they don't know each other or intersect, and that's fine. So I'd like a 2nd, completely different, tree. Is that possible?

A J I like to sort my research based on grandparents - therefore, I would need at least 4 trees (not counting step-parents, etc). I don't want to confuse things by combining trees that have no relation.
I am just starting out with Geni. I am very familiar with Ancestry, Find My Past, etc - they all allow multiple family trees. How can I achieve this with Geni?
Thanks so much!

Jeff, Geni Curator A J, Geni is unlike other sites. It is designed to be a single world tree, where not only your trees are connected but everyone else's are as well. You're just one branch in a much larger world tree and your grandparents are connected through you. I don't see how connecting them helps in any way with research. In fact, most families have what we call pedigree collapse, where you'll see the same ancestors from different branches of your tree. On Geni, this profile exists in both places without duplication as the goal is one profile for one person. At some point, you're tree will overlap with others that have the same ancestors and we merge those branches into a single tree for collaboration. See https://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more
If this model is not what you're looking for, then I suggest myheritage.com, which is the parent company of Geni. As you stated, you can create multiple trees there.

Tami Lund Douglass I am adopted so I have my adopted family in geni already. I recently found some of my birth family and would like to start a family tree with them. What is the best way this should be done.

Margo Cline Same question as Tami Lund Douglass. I started my Adoptive family tree here, and would like my biological one, as well. Obviously, they are not the same, or (AFAIK) connected.
