Somehow I've been appointed manager of my family. How did this happen? And in the meantime, members of my extended family are asking me to update their family names. I would be happy to do this, but don't know which column to save: the first column or the second column? Which is the update that person is asking for? Not clear which update she wants. Jeff, Geni Curator It's likely that the person that managed the profiles closed or abandoned their account and management was transferred to the closest active family member. I'm not sure what you mean by first column or second column. The name fields are first, middle, last, birth. The last name is usually the current last name, where birth name would be the maiden name on women. Also, if you add their email address to their profile, they can update the information themselves as well as update and build on the tree.
