Can't merge duplicates

There are several duplicates in both my immediate family and my mother's, but when I try to merge them, nothing changes. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  I am also having trouble merging two families. This site does not seem to work very well. I have even tried from the other family account and it just gets stuck.

  Hi, I have many duplicates in my tree after a merge of trees yesterday. Some duplicates I was able to merge but others says that I need to wait. I don't know do these people use geni.com and come here to approve these merges. I am 100% they are the same people as it is my cousins and their families. How can I resolve this issue? Now my tree looks awful.
