Unfortunately our family has suffered losses over the years & we haven't been able to include this in our records. How is it done.

Jeff, Geni Curator Sorry for your loss. If the person was once a member of Geni, then you have to report them as deceased. Here are the instructions: http://help.geni.com/entries/20470882-How-do-I-report-a-profile-as-Deceased- Otherwise, you'd just need to edit their profile and change the living status.

His name is Roland Blais and he died on Feb. 25, 2023. Can you help me? for some reason I have lost the ability to update his profile.

mr Maurice Felix Hudon I'm sorry, but this may be a second poste repeated. I think I either sent the first one off or inadvertently erased my first response. My problem is that normally I would go to the person's profile in the tree and click on "edit" after which time I would change their status to deceased from alive, entering the date and location of their death. But for some reason I cannot edit Roland Blais status. Is it perhaps that someone else has entered his photo, etc. into the system thus taking away my ability to make changes? If I am no longer able to make those changes could someone with the authority make changes to Roland Edmond Blais, Deceased Feb. 25, 2023 in Victoria, B.C., Canada

Geni Support Team Hi Maurice, we're sorry to hear about your cousin's passing. The reason you are unable to edit his profile is because he had claimed his account with his email address. Please go to his profile page and click on the Actions button. Click "Report" and select "Deceased" as the reason. Add a comment and submit the report. Once our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to assist with unclaiming his account so that you may update it to reflect his passing.
