Jeff, Geni Curator Are you saying that you'd like to disconnect yourself from this duplicate historical tree and actually build your tree? If so, I can certainly help with that. If you plan to create another duplicate historical tree, I'll have to decline and advise against it. Since Geni is a world tree were we merge duplicates - it creates additional work to merge the duplicates and then disconnect the living person impersonating a historical figure.

Jeff, Geni Curator Basic members can not split a tree, so I've gone ahead and disconnected you. Please build your own family tree. If you connect to FDR, we can certainly tie you into that branch at the appropriate place.

Jeff, Geni Curator I stated in my first message that you should not impersonate a historical figure and build a duplicate of a public tree on Geni. I've disconnected you from the GWB profiles you were creating and I'll make my warning more clear. Do not impersonate a famous or historical figure (or anyone else for that matter). You are welcome to create your own tree or assist others in building their trees with their permission. You can even contribute to the existing historical profiles on Geni (similar to Wikipedia) for the family of FDR and GWB.

Geni is a different model from your normal genealogy software - it's a shared collaborative tree. https://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more If you want to create isolated trees of historical figures, you are welcome to do so at Geni's parent company site, http://www.myheritage.com/.

Kathleen Marie Garness How do I build a family tree for my son's friend and his family? I've done a lot of work on their family tree since I learned that the friend's great-grandparents built our house. While researching our house's history we learned of the connection.

Ellen Altenburg I have a tree that is connected to someone else's tree. I did some research, and the mutual tree is incorrect. How do I disconnect mine and start a new one?
