How to recover the ancestors of a deleted family member.

My maternal grandfather passed away this year and the executor of his estate (an estranged uncle) made a request to Geni to delete my grandfather's profile. That request was approved recently. Unfortunately, I had completed several hours of research and located and linked the profiles of 3-5 generations of my grandfather's ancestors. I had my 7th great grandparents listed on our tree. With the deletion of my grandfather's profile, all of that historical data has now vanished from our tree. Is there any way we can create a placeholder for my grandfather and recover all of the work I had done to document our more distant ancestors? I am really upset that we (and our descendants) may have lost this history.
