How can marital separation be added as a relationship status?

That is essentially the question, I have tried to add a marital separation in my tree and I have not been able to find a marital separation as a kind of relationship.

  Edit profile, relationship tab - there is a drop down for the status where you can choose: ex-spouse or ex-partner.

  If you're talking about just being "separated" and not actually divorced, then there is no option for that.  It's not really a status change as they're still married.

  That is not correct, depending on the country leglislation "marital separation" is a different status, intermediate between marriage and divorce.

   

  How can I include that "event" as a relationship event (that means, a linked event between 2 persons in the tree, as for example marriage is)
