  There is an option: Send birthday reminders to your family

  That option is on by default, but you may have turned it off at some point.  Also know that users have the ability to turn off such notifications in their own settings: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/notifications  (upcoming birthdays, anniversaries or other holidays (once daily max))
