Trouble selecting myself on my tree & "view tree" missing from profile

Simulating someone looking up my name (I'm not logged in). I enter my name in search box, hit enter, select my name to display profile. My profile displays but the option to display tree is missing. To display tree I must select one of my relatives to display their profile then I can select "view tree". When tree is displayed my entry is not active (can't select it) and my picture does not display. Other entries on tree work normally. Have I messed something up. I am the creator of the tree.

When logged in, the tree works normally but my profile page still lacks the view tree option. I must display a relatives profile to get the view tree option.

Help please.

  Daniel, when logged out, you see other profiles and are able to view their tree because they are public profiles (deceased).  Your profile is private (you can enable certain things, such as showing your photo in your settings: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy).  As for why you wouldn't see the view tree on your profile while you're logged in, I'm not sure, as you should see it.  It should be on the right, directly above "Edit Profile" and "Edit Privacy".  You can also click the "Tree" link at the top of the page.

  What is the purpose of being able to view a profile of a living person from a search but not from the tree? I can get to a "live" profile by selecting the parent from the tree then select the "live" person from their profile. Why force an extra step.

  I tried to show picture for my profile (from privacy settings) but it only displays on tree if logged in. On my profile it looks like "view tree" option is hidden under the nag box to add more data to the profile. There is also no edit privacy option.

  You can get to a deceased person via your profile, but that doesn't apply to everyone.  The purpose of getting to you via the search is to be able to send you a message, follow your profile etc.  Other users don't have access or visibility into your tree.  https://www.geni.com/company/privacy  They can see public family member profiles listed in your immediate family and since their profiles are public, you can view that portion of a public tree.  Hope that helps explain it.

  Looks like that little "Your Profile is 75% complete" box is taking the place of the normal links.  You can also access your privacy via the account menu in the top right.
