Is it possible to invite a very distant relative to my tree before I add his name (I don't know exactly how we are related)?

I can only see a box to invite someone who is already in my tree.

  In that case it would be best the relative joined without invitation. Alternatively you can add him/her anywhere in your tree, then send the invite and then disconnect him/her from the tree.
