If I sign up for Geni Pro, and then leave in the future, does any data/do any links get lost?

I might sign up for the Pro account so that I can put in more data and, in particular, link to trees maintained by others.

But I'm not quite enough of an enthusiast that I can commit to doing so indefinitely - the rates are rather high for this kind of service.

If I leave in future, do any of the links get lost?  I'm happy for my efforts to benefit others after my departure, but I won't sign up if the data will vanish when I stop paying.

  Depends what you're describing. If you're talking about a Geni pro account, then losing pro has no effect. Geni pro membership allows you to do more, such as search, blue matches to duplicate trees in Geni. But it sounds like you may be talking about the MyHeritage data subscription which includes green SmartMatches and orange Record Matches, as well as research on MyHeritage. If your data membership ends, the matches will still be attached to the profile as sources, but you ma not longer be able to view the raw document. So if you confirmed a person in a Census and then your membership ended, you would still see that that person was confirmed in that Census but if you clicked on it, you would not see the actual Census record. You can always save the image and upload it directly so you'll always be able to view it, but that takes a little more effort.

  I can't find anywhere to ask these questions on MyHeritage so I will ask here. Jeff's suggestion " You can always save the image and upload it directly so you'll always be able to view it, but that takes a little more effort." is a good one but it begs the question can we legally download images from MyHeritage to upload to Geni? By analogy can we legally download images from MyHeritage to use elsewhere?
