My family lived in what is currently eastern Oklahoma during the time that it was Indian Territory; Choctaws were "removed" from their lands in the Mississippi-Alabama area in 1831-32, and moved on its Trail of Tears to Indian Territory, which was its official designation until Oklahoma became a state.
The software doesn't recognize the term. And, if it already has a town in its database as in being in Oklahoma, e.g., Stigler, then it will autocorrect Indian Territory to Oklahoma.
What to do? Thanks.
