I see famous people added by different users that already have a tree, like Mother Teresa was added by someone else and not by an unique email. I was wondering how you do that. I have a project and I wanted to make a profile for someone famous. I'm pretty sure it's alright to do because I'm not pretending to be someone else, and it would say "added by _____" and "managed by _____", and whenever it says that it's a person who already has a tree, so I'm just wondering if there's a way to add profiles on the same email for a project, I see like " M♥" added a lot of profiles in and it's the same person so I'm guessing it's the same email. Thanks for any replies, ask me if you do not understand what I'm saying. Thanks!

Jeff, Geni Curator If the profile already exists on Geni, don't create a new one. Duplicates should be merged into a single tree. Just add the existing profile to the project. If the profile doesn't exist, then it can be created by building down from the world tree or creating the profile someplace and disconnecting it (requires pro or curator) and then building up to the world tree.

Jeff, Geni Curator Robert, you would find a public ancestor of the famous person within the world tree on Geni. Navigate down that descendant path. You'll run into two possibilities:
1) You run into living profiles, at which point you should probably stop and maybe ask a Curator to review for the famous person to make the profile a Master Profile and public.
2) You don't have a descendant path to follow, in which case you can create a child, and their child, until you create the famous person. Then ask a Curator to make it a Master Profile.

Jeff, Geni Curator Robert, it would probably be a lot easier if I created it and just made you manager. Who is the famous person you want to create?

Lynn Schwarz Haas When updating email addresses, my mom became the main profile owner while I’m listed as her daughter. I cannot change my email address to my present email. It says password doesn’t match. I need to go to MY NAME when I go to Geni.com! Please help!
