why did geni choose not to provide chromosome numbers or segment lengths for the new autosomal dna matches? are they following in ancestry's footsteps? those of us who keep spreadsheets for our matches really need this info. susan

Gerry Michael Henningsen I fully agree with Susan, about the lack of ESSENTIAL tools for basic analyses of DNA matches, especially a "Chromosome Browser" that permits users to see on which chromosomes and in which segment locations they share DNA with potential relatives.
This oversight by Geni, which Susan asked about nearly 5 years ago and to which Geni has not yet bothered to respond, is a serious omission that severely limits the usefulness of DNA test results and reported matches.
This serious limitation, of omitting a chromosomal browser and other analytical tools to better compare possible DNA matches, is one of the major deficits of AncestryDNA as well.
Even though Geni claims to use FTDNA for their DNA services, both FTDNA and Geni's partner MyHeritage (also serviced by FTDNA) offer a chromosome browser to see if and where and how much overlapping SNPs one has in shared segments of specific chromosomes.
So, WHY does Geni not provide a chromosomal browser, like MyHeritage does, when both these partners use FTDNA to host their DNA matching services? This is a serious flaw by Geni, and greatly restricts the better use of users' DNA tests. Please FIX this oversight, Geni - now!!
