Started adding my tree a few months ago, but kept messing things up. Now I know I have dementia. Can someone fix my errors? I have 53 years of genealogy with many pictures and documents and am willing to share.

Hello Betty, happy to help - where are the errors that you need help with?
Thank you so much. It is very sad for me to see the problems I have made when I have always been so particular with my genealogy. This is one convoluted problem:
Katherine Durrett (Goodloe)
2 same fathers--Henry Goodloe
2 same mothers--Elizabeth Goodloe (Browning)
She herself is there twice as a child of Henry and Elizabeth.
Katherine married once (that I know of) and there should be only one John Durrett who married her. The only date I have for John is 5 June 1769 when he sold land to James Wigglesworth.
The only child I have for Katherine and John Durrett was Mary Durrett who married James Wigglesworth.
THERE ARE LOTS MORE.
The daughter of above--Mary Durrett who married James Wigglesworth also has problems. There are two of her. Somehow I gave her two sets of parents. The Durretts are correct. The incorrect parents are John Rhodes and Mary Rodes Crawford, Their daughter Ann Thompson Rhodes is given as the sister of Mary Durrett (Wigglesworth.)
The more I try to tell you the problems, the more difficult it is to do it. My brain freezes. I'll have to do a little at a time.
We may want to start a public discussion on this as it is more than a problem of duplicates, which happen when multiple people have the same ancestors and we merge them into a single tree. https://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more
In this case, we actually have conflicts - where different people have come to various conclusions about ancestry or whom was married to whom. Or at some point, similar ancestries were confused and conflated. So we need to have a discussion about what is the correct ancestry, are these various people different families or is one just mythical research. Is Katherine's mother Elizabeth Browning or Elizabeth Weekes. Who are John's parents and how many children did he have with whom - did he have a first wife Mary? Anyway, this would be better debated on the profile discussion which can bring in the various managers so references or research can be presented. Once we figure out what is correct, it's easy for me to fix. I'll start the discussion and tag you in it so you get a notification.
