I have run into situations where family memebers in the distant past married cousins etc. Showing these people in multiple sections is difficult and confusing when keeping tract of the way the tree flows. A new incest feature could be added to better reflect the proper lay out of the tree.

Adam Robert Brown One might suggest that "cousin marriages" more accurately describes this event than "incest".

Shane Taylor Perhaps calling this option some less provocative would be in better taste, but the point is cousins marrying, or uncles marrying nieces, or sister and brothers having children together, or worse is incest. If these are facts that occurred in the past or God forbid in today’s times then for the sake of historical accuracy we should capture this distasteful family subject as best as we can. I'm connected to a large portion of the world tree project and I've seen a few cases of incest in the past family history. That means many other people in the world tree have incest in their own distant family past.
I request that a more formal option be created to best reflect this phenomenon.

Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) In the new help Knowledge base, there is a video of how to handle cousin marriages. Should work for all situations.

Shane Taylor I know how to make these types of situations work. I just think a better, more striaght forward way to place incest relationships on the tree should be explored. I know it took me a while to get use to navigating geni, and I'm still finding new little tricks. For average geni members it can be overwhelming and fustrating to try to figure out all the options. If we simplify these tpyes of situations for everyone we are bound to get cleaner, less muddled trees.
