how do I show on a family that I divorced and remarried, and from which wife are which children?

Jeff, Geni Curator In the relationship tab, you can select the proper relationship to the spouse (partner, wife, ex-wife, ex-husband, fiancee). So one of your spouses will be an ex-wife and one will be a wife. The ex will be shown with a dashed line. When you add a child to yourself, it should ask you which spouse is the mother. If you add the child to the mother, it should automatically choose you. If the child is already present, but connected to the wrong mother, you should be able to change that by editing the childs profile and selecting the relationship tab. There will be a pull down menu where you can select the proper parents.

Ali Kat How do you merge same people in the Tree? For instance my birth parents swapped partners (don't ask) my mother had 4 children with the swapped partner & his wife had 8 Children with him. Other examples are: my half brother had 3 children with his ex-partner now she is married to my (step) Son from my 1st marriage and has 2 children. Now on the Kreiser side my youngest Granddaughter's paternal line & my Grandson's Maternal line are the same for the most part. Now on my Grandson's Maternal Grandfather's side is Heilman's & they are related to my (Step) son's Maternal Side. So....... my youngest Granddauther's Dad is my Grandson's 7th Cousin via the Kreiser's & my (Step) Sons are also 7th Cousins to my Grandson's via the Heilman's. Plus there are duplicates on my Son's Paternal Grandfather's Maternal side.

Jeff, Geni Curator Ali, the easiest way to explain it would be to have you create duplicate profiles connected to each, then merge them. On one of the profiles, select the "More" menu and then select "Move". A little window will appear with the profile. Drag it over the duplicate profile and say "They are the same person". It will merge them into a single profile and put a little 2x at the bottom.
Second way is to not create duplicate profiles, but just go to the profile, select "More", "Move" and drag it over the other spouse, saying "Wife of..." This again will make a connection and put a little 2x under it. They both do the same thing, but one may be easier to follow than the other.. use what makes since to you.

Anya Maria DeLaura I have looked everywhere and cannot figure out where the mysterious "Relationship" tab is located. My tree shows multiple wives and husbands because I cannot figure out how to make someone an EX-spouse. Apparently the relationship tab exists, but how do I find it? I'm going to need a little more direction, please. :) Thanks.
