Need an instruction manual on how to start run and all else in Geni. How to add second wife or husband. How to get pictures into portfolio. How to set up an album. Can you take a picture from your album and put it in a portfolio entry. All this should be explained in a manual or instruction sheets. I have just started in Geni. does it always take too long to get and entry in the tree. It seems like 30 seconds to a minute. It should be faster than that. This is taking the fun out of the tree. How can you speed up things. I have 4 gig memory, 325 gig hard drive dual processor. I should be able to move right along yet it is boredom to sit and wait until a name is finally put into the tree.

Jeff, Geni Curator This Help has a good bit of instruction with videos. See Tips & Tricks (http://geni.zendesk.com/forums/337265-tips-tricks). Also see the Wiki (http://wiki.geni.com), Blog (http://www.geni.com/blog/geni-user-tips/), and Geni Youtube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Genidotcom).
As for performance, that is not normal. It only takes a second or two. You may want to check you internet connection or perhaps the browser. It's possible that Geni may have been experiencing an issue at that particular time, but I haven't run into it.

Joe Brous Buttrill I agree; there is a serious lack of documentation for Geni. This documentation should also include a comprehensive glossary of Geni terms, as many terms are bandied about without precise definitions.
The Geni wiki is a good attempt, but it's not maintained by Geni staff, who are the only people who know how Geni is supposed to work on any given day--changes are frequent and undocumented.

Einar Andreas Aagaard I am PRO-member Einar Andreas Aagaard and agree with Joe Buttrill. At present I use Geni by way of improvising.

Job Waterreus The number of places you can find information is one of the problems for someone new to Geni. It is not clear where to start when you are new to Geni.
The Wiki is nice, but as far as I know only in English and Dutch. And both are too complicated for starters and take too much for granted. And some users don't even see the links to the Wiki or Help and even when they do, will they know what a Wiki is? So the Help should explain a least what the Wiki is about.
Even when you find the wiki it is not easy to find the information you are looking for. Especially when you start and do not know how it is done ore what name the process you are looking for has within Geni (or if it is even possible with Geni).

Job Waterreus Kealani,
You should be able to add from the tree view (use the top menu family tree and choose tree)
If it still does not work could you post a screen print of the screen you are working on? (use the attach file below the add comment box to add a picture)
I may make it more clear what the problem is.
