Has there ever been any thought given to the idea of a way to record or recognize military service? I found a lot of information on one branch of my tree at the following website:
He uses a tiny flag for each persons country of birth and tiny medals beside military information. Both of my parents served during WWII, my ex-husband was in the Air Force, and my son is currently in the Army and it would be nice to have a way to recognize them for that.
Also, I don't know of any way I can search Geni or the other website just to locate relatives that served in the military. I know I even have some Civil War veterans, but unless I keep track of their name elsewhere I have no quick way of locating them.
As I have gone further back in my family I am getting to the point where a lot of them immigrated from Germany, Scotland, Ireland, England, and Canada. It would also be nice to be able to search for and locate those people. I have just been putting "Immigrated in 1860" or whatever in the place name above their country of birth.
I will add these to the Feature Requests, but it always seems like a good idea to have some discussion on things like this -- that's why this site is so wonderful!

I'm sure you have a LONG list of requests and I know too much information will "clutter up" the very clean site that Geni is, but I think this is something important that people should be recognized for no matter what country they are from!
