When you send a email to notify us of some events (like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) the wording (i.e. "today") is not always accurate without providing the exact date. Reason is that people live in different time zones and your system's "today" might be different from theirs.
I think you always should add the exact event date next to the word "today".
