But I want them to get the birthday reminders. I guess I could just add another bogus brother in order to accomplish this.

Leroy Sedgwick In trying to manage one of my relatives, I do not have an edit feature on their family tree. How do I go about this so that he will get the reminders again?

Lo When someone joins Geni / claims their profile - the Default is that they and only they can edit it. They can change this in their Account Settings to allow other [family members] to edit their Profile. However - even if they choose to allow editing by others - this does not give you/others the right to edit their Account Settings - so if they have turned off receiving Birthday reminders, or all messages from Geni, then only they can turn it on again.
Unless, of course, they tell you their password, allow you to go in (log in typing the e-mail they use on Geni, their password) and pretend to be them. If your relative has a very good relationship with you but just hates using the computer or finds geni too complicated or etc., this might possibly work. [Tho caution is perhaps needed, since officially I believe it is forbidden to pretend to be someone else.]
Personally, I like that Geni gives me the right to be the only one editing my account, and does not allow others to change my settings, etc., so don't think I actually want this changed.
