Gypsy I RECEIVED AN EMAIL JUST NOW INFORMING ME THAT THIS MONTH, GENI WILL NO LONGER SEND ME NOTIFICATIONS UNLESS I JOIN GROUPS OR PARTICIPATE IN OTHER WAYS.
YES, I DO DO 'SOME RESEARCH HERE ON OCCASION. I AM A 60-YEAR OLD DISABLED SENIOR WHO HAS LIVED OFF GRID APPROXIMATELY 30 YEARS. I DO NOT JOIN ANY OF THESE GROUPS AND DISCUSSIONS. I NO LONGER FUNCTION PROPERLY WITH OTHERS. TOO, THERE THE FACT THAT CANADA PENSION PLAN (CPP) BELIEVES I CAN RENT, BUY GROCERIES ALL ON THE GRAND TOTAL OF $158.09 EACH MONTH TO COVER HOUSING, FOOD, UTILITIES, ETC.
ONE THING I DO IN HERE IS SOME PHOTO RESTORATIONS FOR OTHER MEMBERS; I JOKINGLY REFER TO IT AS 'DRIVE BY PHOTOSHOP.' THIS INVOLVES SCREEN SHOTS OF IMAGES I FIND HERE THAT COULD USE SOME WORK - AND NO, I NEVER CHARGE FOR THE WORK.
SO, MAY AS WELL SHUT ME DOWN THEN. I AM ALREADY CORRESPONDING WITH A FELLOW HERE THAT I PROMISED TO DO SOME RESTORATION FOR.
SO I GUESS THAT THIS IS GOOD BYE

Geni Support Team Hi Gypsy,
You seem to have misunderstood the email message. You recently received a notification that a new discussion was created on a project you follow.
The message simply stated that users will no longer automatically follow new discussions on projects unless they choose to join/follow the discussion. This way users will not receive constant notifications for discussions they are not participating in. It does not mean that Geni will stop sending you notifications entirely. In fact, you can view your notification settings here: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/notifications
