Currently I have a photo displayed in Geni (Pro) that is about 15 years old. I would like to be able to have people viewing the Geni tree to get (with the date) my most recent photo, but also (with one click back and forth) to cycle through earlier photos.

I believe you probably could achieve something like this with the timeline (not an area I use much so not sure) or just in the media ensuring you title each photo with a date.

You have to distinguish between being able to do something awkwardly and doing it easily. You also have to recognize how other users are able to access the material. The photo is very visible, but there is no obvious way for a new-comer to Geni to cycle through photos. Compare what most photo software provides - a simple back and forward button is intuitive to everyone.

I totally agree.This is the case for much of Geni. They are capable of so much more using what they already have available. I will sometimes ask quesions in this forum to get to the exact details of what is wanted so that the Geni team don't just think to themselves 'users can do this anyway so we'll forget it for now'
