Incomplete merges

One of the things I have noticed is that when people merge profiles on the tree they don't go beyond the actual merging. I try to make it a part of the process to go to the profile pages of the merged duplicates and resolve data conflicts as soon as I have finished the merges. If everyone did this we wouldn't have the list of conflicts that is so astronomical.

[[54]] I wonder whether Geni couldn't have a window that automatically pops up, or happens straight after merges are complete with links to the data conflict pages before we are given the message that the merge is complete and to close. The merge is of course not finished!

  I have requested this months ago. It shouldn't be that big of a deal to pop it up on the profile instead of it being hidden in the notification box. I have never gotten a reply from Geni.

  Does anyone actually work at Geni?  No questions get answered. They seem to ignore those of us who cannot afford to go premium.  I received an email months ago saying they were merging with another company and implied that Geni would be free now.  They lied. The email is below.  So far I have not seen any changes or merges.  Again they lied.  I have so may problems with merging and I can't get a proper or any response from them as to how I get rid of merges and take control back from these people who messed up my tree.  HELP!!!  

  Here is the email they sent me:

  And where in that email does it tell that Geni would be free now?

  They only tell that some features which required Pro access is free now.

  Geni/MyHeritage is a commercial company and of course they need some income to exist.

  I am also having this same problem with incomplete merges, and in spite of trying to contact others involved (whose trees may be private instead of public), can't get the merges on their end cleared up. I have sent a Help request to GENI and got a response back (probably automated) that they were looking into it. It's just been a couple days so we'll see if they can resolve this for me...and hopefully for all users in the future. On the other issue of combining with MyHeritage, I don't like the added links because even though I'm a paid PRO member of GENI, I still can't access all the information from MyHeritage without having to pay...which I won't pay any more than what I already have. So far, I haven't really found it helpful, and the Smart Matches and Record Matches symbols just seem to clutter up my tree, making it too "busy" looking and harder to automatically see and correct my own real tree issues. I wish we had a choice on this.
