When a profile is deleted, only the primary manager is notified.
With profiles that are the result of a merge, this is problematic - because the other managers may be very eager to know that this profile has been deleted, and possibly restore it or have a discussion with the deleter.
Proposal: When a profile is deleted, send a mail message to ALL the managers, and add the profile to the list of deleted profiles for ALL the managers.
