Hello
Is there a way to search mail? I have many correspondences and sometimes it would be nice to quickly find the email(s) of a particular person without having to search a large list. If not, could you please add the feature?
Thanks
Ken

Alex Moes If search is too hard maybe just a sort function which could reorder all mails alphabetically by senders name?

Jim Henderson Yes, we need to be able to search emails as well as documents and Feature requests, things that I have requested.
Programmers, to achieve searching, just copy the code from the open source program, Thunderbird. With that I can search for any word or phrase in the subject or in the body of the emails or or any part of the email or any date range. Much more helpful than gmail provides.
It's not too hard, guys, please do it.
geni is growing all the time and there's more and more stuff "up there" that we need to be able to search. We don't want this great concept and facility to die of constipation and become unusable because of its success :-)

Bjørn P. Brox Search email works fine for me, - in the mail client program that I use, for example gmail.
I have set up filter rules that direct all incoming Geni messages into a separate folder than the regular inbox.
However: it does not cover outgoing messages - to include that I agree that we need a built-in function in Geni, but it has never happened that I needed to find a message I have sent without getting any reply I could not search for. -
Alex Moes I was assuming that the request is regarding Geni's Private Message system.
Do you get an email each time you are sent a PM?
I have a filter on incoming emails so that anything from Geni goes to a separate folder rather than get lost in the daily flood but i also have notifications almost all turned off so Geni emails are only when someone Follows me and when i get tagged in a Discussion.

Bjørn P. Brox Yes, you get an email copy and a link of each message you receive in Geni and an email every time you are tagged in a discussion, - unless you have disabled getting such in your account settings.
That is why I use my mail program to search, and secondly it also preserves messages that is deleted on Geni. -
Kenneth Heiferman Thanks for the comments. It doesn't seem that it should be too difficult to set up a search function, as gmail does. I do get a copy of the message in my gmail account and I wish that I saved them. Early on I didn't realize that I would want to search them in the future. However, as mentioned, it only saves the incoming emails and I might want to search for a key name that I mention in an outgoing email that isn't in the incoming message.
