Help for a beginner to Geni

Are there any tutorials available for newbies to Geni? I watched some of the YouTube videos but am not finding what I need. Help! I've found many, many trees with branches to my tree but am unsure how to merge data. Don't want to mess up another person's entries. :\

  How can I see my messages I have sent? 29th march I asked the administrators about a profile of an anchestor of mine. But with my login today I cannot find, what I sent.
