Jeff, Geni Curator What are the proper relationships?
-
Cynthia Cooper under my mothers name hyacinth agnes cooper and my Dad Israel Jonathon Cooper my cousins name have been listed as chidren. They are also added as my bothers and sisters,
My family have looked at the site and are not happy with the mistakes.

Jeff, Geni Curator Let me explain what you should do and maybe you can fix it yourself. Edit the profile of the child and go to the relationship tab. There is a drop down menu for the parents. Select the drop down menu and select the proper parents for that child - save.
If you want me to help fix it though, I'll need more information, such as, do you have any siblings or are they all your cousins? Under which aunt / uncle do they belong as children? I'll need to know where they belong.

Cynthia Cooper I did edit when I first noticed the mistakes. But it did cause a big problem with the person who manged them and she undid it.So its better if you do it.Ive just doubled checked and under my parents name and my Uncle Isaac Abraham Cooper name the same children are listed. So under my parents name Israel Jonathon Cooper and Hyacinth Agnes cooper should only be my name no siblings.Hope that makes sense.

Jeff, Geni Curator That's weird - did she dispute the paternity?
-
Cynthia Cooper no she didnt want me to alter anything that belonged to her

Jeff, Geni Curator Moved and merged - should look correct now.

Jeff, Geni Curator Geni is a shared collaborative tree - while she may be the manager of a profile, the tree doesn't belong to her. It's your tree too and you have a right to correct, edit, and build onto it. This is built in as agreed terms of use for the site. Cynthia Cooper Thank you for your help

Sandy Burgess McClay Jeff, I have a similar problem, the person who added me put me under a wrong parent. I need to be added under an uncle of mine in her info. Should I just delete myself and start fresh? It is way too confusing for me, and I do not want to mess up her tree.

Jeff, Geni Curator Sandy, just let me know who your parents are and I'll move you if you don't feel comfortable editing your parent relationship.

Sandy Burgess McClay Jeff, How do I find what I need to give you? Should I add my parents also, so you can get rid if the wrong parent? This is so confusing....lol

Jeff, Geni Curator Sandy, I believe I've corrected your placement in the tree. I didn't know the names of your aunt or uncle, so I just put Mr & Mrs. I was able to identify several sons of Knute being John, Ole, Carl, & William but I didn't know if any of them married a Burgess. You should have no restrictions in editing those profiles with the correct names and we can merge or delete the duplicate son if one exists.
