How can I add a relative to an ancestor's profile when the add (+ people) button is greyed out?

  Hi Charles, which profile are you trying to add to? If the relationships are locked, you may need to ask a curator for assistance.

  Thank you for your support.  The profile is at:  https://www.geni.com/people/John-Gedney-of-Salem/3221337

  It seems to me that it is locked.  I have contacted the curator who suggested adding a duplicate profile then merging it.  What would this do to the tree?

  If relationships for the profile are locked, the curator will likely ask for your sources in order to add a relative to the tree. If it is a disputed branch, you may be asked to start a public discussion so interested parties can review and discuss the evidence.
