Geni Support Team Hi Ülo, you see the "How are your related?" button because you are both connected to the World Family Tree.
Geni will calculate the closest blood and in-law path to you/focus person, if either can be found. Otherwise, you may be seeing the one which was cached or calculated first.
If you get the message that a path cannot be found, it is likely because the path is too distant.
Also, keep in mind that pending merges and recent merges can also prevent the closest relationship from calculating.
