Invited family members

Hello. I have invited few family members to the tree and they have joined Geni, for example:

• My mother
• My step father
• my brother

Only now I have noticed that I am no longer able to edit my mother's and brother's profile. However, I am still able to edit my step father's profile. Why there is a difference? How can we change that so I could edit both my mothers and brothers profile?

I am a bit shocked about this, especially considering that I wanted to invite more people, but that fact that I get locked from editing their profiles dosnt sound too appealing. Knowing that they wont be active users, most of the will log in once.

  Users can allow near family to edit their profiles, but default is only they themselves can edit it. See https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy

  Hello Job. Thank you! Really helpful! And I guess before inviting someone I cannot control this, they can choose what ever basically?

  Hi Rokas, once a relative accepts their invitation to join the family tree, they will assume full control of their profile. The reason you can still edit your stepfather's profile is because he has not set his permanent password. 

  If your relatives would still like for you to edit their profile after they have claimed their accounts, then you can ask them to update their profile privacy settings to allow close family to edit their profile. Simply have them check the box "Let my family edit my profile" and save.
