I recently realized that if you merge the target profiles, you lose the ability to trace multiple connections with the same person. The merged profile will always produce the fastest path between myself and the target. But Geni should help find MULTIPLE connections to the same person, even if some are more indirect and convoluted than others. Is there any way to undo the merge? If not, is there a way to ferret out multiple independent connections to the same person?
To make it more clear, I knew there was a direct path between me and my first cousin's once removed's wife's mother. What I discovered is that there is a totally different connection to her mother, through my wife's brother-in-law. After the merger, I can no longer establish the latter connection. Luckily, I saved a hard copy.
