Adding people into tree, not going in your tree just others.

Seriously issue having, I am about ready to cancel the trial. I added so many people, but then when I click on my tree I am still at 374 people. After redoing it for 6hrs learned these stupid green things pop up or when I click add daughter I am actually adding my info to someone else's tree. 2 days wasted, not happy at all. I could have already finished adding my 2500 people to my tree, but nope stuck at 374 people, cuz I can't add anyone else. It would have been less headache if I could just upload my Gedcom. I am not getting anywhere, only the people who don't have trees for them, I can add them. Someone told me to merge them, but there is nowhere to merge them, only when they blue pop up and if they match, most times I have to add them, but it goes to someone else's tree, not mine. How do you add people without adding them to other people's trees? This is a very stressful site!

Last weekend I was hoping to have my tree done, so I could start looking for the missing links. Definitely not on this site!
