  Please -- this looks like it's been an issue for over 7 years! Can we please upload our GEDcom and then clean it up if it needs it???

  Not an issue at all.
  Support for GEDCOM uploads was simply stopped.

  Usually you just need to build your tree a few generations until you get hints about duplicates you can connect to.
