Been putting LINKS in "About" section of our Profiles. (Mostly 'Find-A-Grave', Cemetery Surveys, Obituaries, etc)
But that is not really About the person?
And hate to upload all these full web pages?
Why can't I simply 'copy' the "About" section.. and 'paste' into the "Source" section? Would be much easier?
You can - click the add source button and you can create a new document or put a link and download the webpage to the sources section.
Tried creating a text file, (of Links), and adding it to "Source". But the Links didn't work, like they do when added to "About".
Upon seeing an "MP" Profile? With long list of sources, in the "About" section. Got the idea to document my hours of work, the same way.
Maybe just using the wrong program to create my Document? (Notepad) Doesn't recognize a Link as a 'Link'?
As far as downloading all our sources? Can't think that's what Geni prefers?
Although we personally find them interesting.. Some online obituaries, (from newspapers), go on for pages and pages?
I mean? Geni is not "Stone Mountain" Archive? Different goal, as we understand it?
Call it personal pride? But we're simply trying to make a completely accurate, verifiable, Family Tree. (Not that easy?)
I don't want to create a source document, just identify a certain document that is the source of information for an event. For example, the birth event documented by "Pfaffen-Schwabenheim church book 1659-1751, now in Hauptstrasse 22, Badenheim, page 53." Where is the best place to put that? I've been putting it in the "About" panel under the "Overview" tab.
