How do I do this without the 2nd bio parent known? The only option seems to be to delete the only parent relationship set. Assuming I did that then tried to reconnect them wouldn't it just default to calling them both bio again?

Jeroen M.W. van Dijk The way is not do delete, but change the parent-child relation. If one of the parents is bio and the other not. Add then the parents not as pair but as a single parent to the child.
The first time you do it you end up with too many parents and duplicated parents then you can change the relationship between parent and child.

Robert Dale Engle OK, deleted the parent relationship. Added his bio mother as a new person. Isn't there a way to attach an existing person instead of creating a new person and waiting for the system to see 2 identical people and merge?
