Everyone's getting warning about the birthday of my mother, who died last year. I've created this tree sever years ago and cannot stop it. I cannot set my mother's death, I've read the bloody forums, don't tell me to switch her profile "dead" because there's not such option. I cannot contact anyone, unless I pay, because I'm not a pro user, and don't want to be a pro user. There's no helpdesk, contact person, anything and this whole thing is just a usability disaster. You're holding my family's data and contact, and I cannot control it. You are bothering my family at our grief with messages I cannot stop. (maybe I did, I managed to remove a "share" box from the profile? What seemed to be a good idea now really just pisses me off. How can I delete the whole damn thing for good?

Roberto Capodieci same problem here. My mother died 3 days ago, I cannot update her profile page with a death date. Quite embarrassing for Geni to have forgotten this obviously needed function

Geni Support Team Hi Roberto, we're very sorry for your loss. If you do not see the option to update her profile, then it is because she had claimed her account with her email address. You can report her profile as Deceased by going to her profile page, click on the Actions button, and select "Report." Choose "Deceased" as the reason and submit. Once our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to unclaim her account so that you may update it to reflect her passing.
