A family member (woman) just had a baby with a co-parent using his sperm, implanted using ivf. They were never a couple, never partners. Just had an agreement between the two of them.
How do I add the father to the tree without creating a relationship between the parents?
I don't think that "no relationship" is possible as the child is a link. Would you be happy assigning biodad as "Partner"? I think that's the closest they have right now. You could add a notation in his profile's "Overview" explaining his actual part in the childmaking process. There are enough people now who are ivf, maybe this will be addressed.
I've ended up not adding the father since "no relationship" isn't possible and partner (or ex-partner) isn't right for this case. I hope ivf gets addressed in the future - there are so many options these days.
