Search Path Issue

when i use the relationship path to find an ancestor or connect an ancestor to my Dad's side, the relationship path ends up using my moms side instead.

For Example: Martha Roberts is my 8th great aunt on my dad's side. but when i use the search on someone else's profile with the same ancestor it says that she is my Dad's wife's 14th great uncle's wife's first cousin's husband's third great nephew's wife's great niece.when it should say 8th great aunt.

i've check the birth and death dates and husband and child she is related to which matches up with the same ancestor in my family and i know how to use the pin option too. so please if you can geni, please fix the relationship path.

  Hi Tanner,

   

  I've have the same issue as well

  To date, everyone of my Geni connections all go thru my mother. When I did this with some people who were clearly from my paternal side I got the same results!

   

  For example, here is the connection to someone who happens to be my paternal great grandmother (again it was thru my mom's grandmother's brother--btw, based on her mother's and cousin's names this was clearly the "correct" Rivka Goldenberg)   

   

  Rivka Goldenberg is your second great aunt's brother's wife's niece's husband's great niece's husband's great uncle's wife's first cousin.
  

   

  I wonder how  many others may be experiencing, why this is happening and how to resolve.
