Female Surnames

Why are the trees using the female's married surname rather than her maiden name.  Everyone knows that in Genealogy women are always listed by their birth name.  Using the married name makes it very confusing.  On my tree if I list both the married name and the birth name, only the married name shows.  This is not the way it is supposed to be.  This way you don't know who the woman is.  She is anonymous unless you go into her profile to see her birth name.
