I already have a big tree on myheritage. but took the free trial to see if I could benefit from both, but forgot to quit before I was drawn for a whole year. Is it possible to get the money back?

Jim Henderson You could go to the Help Centre and Submit a ticket to ask for your money back.
Alternatively, you could spend the year using SmartCopy to copy your tree at MyHeritage into Geni, a family at a time -- parents, siblings, spouses and children all at once -- making sure that you check for merge options after each family.
See my notes on how to do that here. Scroll down to the section "Why can't I just upload my GEDCOM file?" You'll probably find lots of ancestors you didn't know about, as part of the Whole World Tree.
